Views on Copyright Infringment

My ideas on copyright infringement have definitely changed. I used to think that it wasn't a big deal and that it shouldn't be punished, but now I think different. Now I think it is stealing and I think that people the do it all the time and make a living out of it should be penalized. They should have to either spend three to five years in jail or pay a 250,000 dollar fine. It is wrong for someone to steal someones work without paying for it, even though the writers and singers of the songs are paid pretty well you have to think about all of the other people like the CD makers and editors. If you don't buy the song they don't get paid which is taking money away from their family.
A copyright infringement example would be the lawsuit between A&M Record and Napster. A&M Records were suing Napster for copyright infringement. A&M Records said that Napster was stealing there songs and selling them to the world. Napster had to pay 26 million dollars to the music industry in 2002. Napster also apologized. I feel that the punishment should have been way more than just apologizing and taking the website down. I feel that they should have taken the money and given it to an organization or given it to their employees.

Technology Autobiography

Technology is my best friend. I use the computer often for school. I type almost everything even if it is just a journal for Religion. I love the computer. I have only had one bad experience with it when it comes to school. I was typing an English essay and the computer shut down and I didn't save therefore, I had to retype the entire thing. That was probably my fault because I waited till the night it before it was due to start typing it. I have definitely learned my lesson. I do not wait until the last minute to type things and I always have a flash drive in the computer.
In my personal life I cannot get away from the computer. My mom always yells at me to stop texting or get off facebook or twitter. It is one of my favorite things. I have trouble doing projects for school on the computer because I somehow always get on facebook. I have never really had trouble with technology in my personal life. I might have had a phone randomly shut down on me but that's about it.
I see technology becoming greater in the future. By the time I have kids they will probably know how to work a computer better than me at 3. There might even be a cure for cancer. I don't see technology usage declining I see it increasing. I definitely don't think anyone will not know how to use a computer like now. My grandma has no clue how to use a computer and does not care that she doesn't. I believe technology is a big part of every ones life and always will be.
